From Trap to Zen: The Unique Journey of a Trap Yogi Welcome to YogaWithEJ.com. In this segment, I will share a little bit about my Life Journey and how it all lead to me being a self-realized yogi, which lead me to become a Certified Yoga Instructor. I first have to say, I have to Thank Allah for giving me the experience of Living Life. When you really become aware of your conscience, you see "God" everywhere, in any and everything. My VERY first vivid memory of this lifetime of mine, I was 6 years old. I was outside playing with the kids in the neighborhood, and out of no where, I just stopped DEAD IN MY TRACKS. It was like I had just came conscious of my body. My eyes began to scan my body and then I looked up in the sky and stared at the SUN. Immediately, my thoughts hit me saying "WHERE Am I?? WHO Am I?? WHAT Am I?!? Something doesn't feel right, its off here."

When I was 9, I was watching Yay Areas Finest(IYKYK) on YouTube, when I got stuck in a trance and my thoughts were racing so fast I couldn't even catch them. But then, the thought hit me... "Who Runs the World?" From there, I dove DEEEEP down that rabbit hole.

When I was about 14 years old, I really started to not make the best decisions with my life. I got deeper into smoking weed, popping pills, drinking cough syrup, getting high and "having fun," but in reality I was hurting and running away from myself. Doing all this stuff all the way until about 20 years old, while also still studying about life and consciousness, developing my own philosophies about the mind and body. While it may sound strange, this was my way of deepening my connection with the Creator. My opinion on this is just the fact of me studying about consciousness, psychology, religion, etc. My MIND was just on that realm of thinking, but my body wasn't following that knowledge. I was ignorant to the Information, but still receptive of it.

I was about 20 years old when it hit me, "This is NOT IT. Something has to change like RIGHT NOW!" My first instinct was to shut off the lights in the room, and Just sit there with myself, with my thoughts, and just calm my mind down. THAT WAS MY FIRST INSTINCT TO "Finding My Self". Fast forward 4 years later, I took my 200hr YTT.

YOGA IS A WAY OF LIFE: It's more than just stretching or " A Good Workout". Yoga is a Way of Life. It has philosophies and science to back it up. The Lifestyle of Yoga goes way back to the Ancient Days in Kemet(Egypt), the term for the Way of Life could be translated as "SMAI TAWI." The Ancient Hieroglyph for Sema (Smai) was the adjoining of The Trachea and Lungs; Sema translates to "UNION." In todays world, we call it "Yoga." Yoga is a Sanskrit word that translates to "UNION" or "To Link". So, we have to ask ourselves, "What are we Uniting with? What are we linking to?" When practiced correctly and intentionally, Yoga is a Way of Life that shows you how to embrace the present moment, coming into oneness and uniting with the THE SOURCE. The Source within you is the SAME SOURCE that created EVERYTHING in EXISTENCE. Yoga brings us into being one with The Creator Of Life, as a Human.

I embrace my AUTHENTIC, unique, and inclusive approach to yoga. My aim is to create a space that is welcoming to people of all backgrounds, with a specific focus on reaching the melanated community. I also cater to individuals aged 18-33, while being open to teaching kids and elders. Today, we want to take you on a journey from the trap to zen, exploring the transformative power of yoga. Yoga has long been associated with peace, tranquility, and spiritual growth, but what happens when we infuse it with a "Trap Yogi" vibe? We create a space that is vibrant, energetic, rejuvenating, uplifting, and relatable to a diverse range of individuals. The classes I offer incorporate elements of meditation, breathwork, reiki, physical postures, tai-chi. I believe that yoga is not a one-size-fits-all practice, and I strive to offer a variety of services to cater to different needs and interests. One of the key aspects that sets YogaWithEJ apart is specialization in breathwork, energy work, and meditation. These practices are at the core of the teachings, as we believe that true transformation begins from within. By focusing on the breath, we learn to calm the mind, release stress, and connect with our inner selves. Through energy work, we tap into the subtle energies that flow through our bodies, promoting healing and balance. And with meditation, we cultivate focus, mindfulness and presence, allowing us to navigate the challenges of everyday life with grace and ease. Classes are designed to be inclusive and accessible to all. We welcome individuals of all ages, from kids to elders, and create a safe and supportive environment for everyone to explore their practice. Our diverse group of participants reflects the beauty of unity in diversity, and we celebrate the unique journeys that each individual brings to the mat. If you're new to yoga, give it a try! "Don't Knock It Till You Try It"!!! It's never too late to start your journey towards inner peace and balance. Here are a few tips to get you started: 1.
